Differential Behaviour of the Equatorial Ionospheres on the Eastern and Western Coasts of the South-American Continent

چکیده
The H component of geomagnetic field shows a daytime maximum in low iatitudes. It is explained as due to two circular(Sq)current systems in the ionospheric E region, with foci at about 30° latitude, one in each hemisphere, Northern and Southern. At the dip equator, the two current systems accentuate each other. In addition, the vertical Hall currents are greatly inhibited causing alarge, vertical Hall polarization field which, when crossed with the north-south

Long term coastal erosion and shoreline positions of Sri Lanka
Coastal zone of Sri Lanka is a key to sustainable development of the country. The erosion of country’s coastal zone has been identified as a long standing problem. Therefore, coastal sediment dynamics around the country has to be identified to develop an appropriate coastal zone management plan. Remote sensing and GIS techniques can be used for quantitative and qualitative analyses of coastal p...
متن کاملExpansion Factors of Extremism on the Continent of Africa and its Containment Strategies
In various parts of the world, the continent of Africa is struggling with the phenomenon of terrorism and extremism more than other regions. This continent, for various reasons, including the various weaknesses of software and hardware, including economic backwardness, political instabilities, social inequalities, and foreign interventions that find their interests only in insecurity and instab...
متن کاملFormation and Variability of a Northerly ITCZ in a Hybrid Coupled AGCM: Continental Forcing and Oceanic–Atmospheric Feedback*
Despite the equatorial symmetry of the annual-mean insolation, the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and the collocated band of high sea surface temperature (SST) assume perennial northern latitudes over the eastern Pacific and Atlantic. An atmospheric general circulation model is coupled with an intermediate ocean model to study continental forcing and oceanic–atmospheric interaction that ...
متن کاملGlobal Warming Attenuates the Tropical Atlantic-Pacific Teleconnection
Changes in global sea surface temperature (SST) since the end of last century display a pattern of widespread warming intercepted by cooling in the eastern equatorial Pacific and western coasts of the American continent. Studies have suggested that the cooling in the eastern equatorial Pacific may be partly induced by warming in the North Atlantic. However, it remains unknown how stable this in...
متن کاملExcavations at the Prehistoric Sites of Tepe Dehno and Tepe East Dehno, Shahdad, South-eastern Iran
Dasht-e Lut (Lut Desert) is archaeologically well-known in Near East thanks to the presence, on its western edge, of the Bronze Age urban centre of Shahdad. In 2012, the author launched a three-season field project in the area of Shahdad, with an agenda articulated around three main research points: an extensive archaeological survey along the western edge of the Lut Desert, the stratigraphic e...
